A Summer Wedding at The Barn at Silverstone

On July 12th, I had the absolute joy of assisting Heather Marie Photography at Sarah and Chase Ferro’s wedding at The Barn at Silverstone in Lancaster, PA. Every wedding is unique, but this one stood out for its deep sense of faith, love, and family. From the moment I arrived, I could tell that Sarah and Chase had planned a celebration that was not only beautiful but also incredibly heartfelt.

Rooted in Faith & Family

One of the things I loved most about this wedding was how much it reflected Sarah and Chase’s faith. Every moment of the day seemed intentional— from the prayers shared during quiet times to the way their families spoke about them with such pride and love. There was a warmth that radiated throughout the entire celebration, making it impossible not to feel the depth of their devotion to each other and to God. The day was deeply family-centered, filled with tender moments from the bride's first look with her father to the joyful tears during reception speeches.

The Aesthetic & Setting

The Barn at Silverstone is an elegant and timeless venue that balances rustic charm with sophisticated style. Inside, fairy lights draped across the beams gave the space such a warm and inviting glow, while pastel florals and carefully chosen decor tied everything together. Sarah and her bridesmaids looked stunning in shades of pink that paired beautifully with the groomsmen’s classic black attire. Outside, the venue was just as breathtaking. A peaceful pond with a fountain sat beneath sweeping willow trees— truly a dream backdrop for portraits. With every turn, there was another beautiful spot waiting to be photographed.

Emotional & Memorable Moments

One of the most touching parts of the day was Sarah and Chase’s first touch. Instead of seeing each other before the ceremony, they chose to stand at a corner of one of the venue’s stone buildings, holding hands, while exchanging words and prayers with one another. Even without laying eyes on one another, you could feel their connection and the anticipation building for the ceremony. It was quiet, emotional, and incredibly powerful. Later in the evening, the reception was filled with laughter, joy, and some very emotional toasts. Both the bride and groom’s fathers gave speeches that had me tearing up behind the camera— a reminder of just how much love surrounded this couple.

Capturing the Beauty

While assisting Heather, I photographed nearly every part of the day, from details and bridal portraits to wedding party photos, the ceremony, and reception candids. But some of my absolute favorite moments were spent with Sarah and Chase during their portraits. The willow trees provided the most romantic setting for photos. With their branches cascading around the couple, it felt like they were in their own little world. Then, during the reception, we snuck the newlyweds out for sunset portraits, and the light was pure magic. Golden rays filtered through the trees and buildings, wrapping the couple in the kind of glow every photographer dreams of capturing. Those portraits quickly became some of my favorites of the entire day.

Reflections on the Day

Being part of Sarah and Chase’s wedding was an experience I’ll never forget. Not only was it an honor to witness such a beautiful love story unfold, but it also gave me the opportunity to grow as a photographer. Assisting Heather allowed me to see the flow of a wedding day through another professional’s perspective while also giving me the chance to create images of my own. At the end of the night, I walked away feeling grateful and even more excited about pursuing wedding photography. Sarah and Chase’s day reminded me of why I love this work so much— it’s about capturing real love, authentic emotion, and the moments that families will hold close for years to come.
